Stargazed

The recent form makes for sobering reading. In the last six outings, Stargazed has finished eighth, seventh, eighth again, twelfth, second, and then that solitary win. Two placings from eight career races shows the horse can run into the frame, but the stretches of poor form in between suggest there is still work to do. Trained by K. R. Burke at Coverham in North Yorkshire—a yard that has saddled 145 winners this season alone—Stargazed has the infrastructure around it to improve. Whether it will is another matter. At three years old, there is time yet, but the window for a horse to establish itself as a genuine prospect does not stay open forever. The challenge now is whether Stargazed can string together some consistent performances rather than operating in fits and starts.
