Squishy

Trained by Paul W Flynn out of Colehill in County Longford, Squishy is part of an operation that has sent out 21 winners this season — a solid return that shows Flynn knows how to prepare a horse to win. That the stable is producing at that level matters, because it means Squishy isn't sitting in a yard that's simply going through the motions. Squishy raced just one day ago, so whatever comes next is likely not far away.

The one bright spot in the form book so far is that single placing — a third — which at least tells us the horse has been competitive enough to finish in the shake-up once. With two unplaced runs either side of it, the picture is still forming. At three, that's not unusual. Some horses take time to find their feet, and the team at Colehill clearly see enough to keep running.
