That sole career win came at Punchestown in November 2025, and it arrived at a track that tends to reward a certain type of performer — one who jumps well and travels comfortably in a big field. Winning there is no fluke, and the fact that it took ten races to get there does not diminish it. Some horses simply need time and the right conditions to find their feet, and the Punchestown win suggested this might be one of them.
What makes Son of Anarchy worth watching now is the shape of his recent form. His last six races, read from most recent backwards, read 8-8-3-1-4-2. Strip away the two disappointing runs at the front of that sequence and underneath you can see a horse that finished second, then won, then ran fourth and third in stronger company. That is not the form of a horse going nowhere — it is the form of a horse that ran well, peaked with a win, and is now finding its level again. The back-to-back eighths are a concern, but with Elliott's yard having sent out 209 winners already this season, there is clearly no shortage of ability in the operation to keep horses sharp.
Regular partner Mark Walsh has ridden Son of Anarchy six times without a win between them, which is a curious subplot. Walsh is one of the most respected jockeys in the sport, so the absence of a win together is more a reflection of the horse's inconsistency than any fault in the saddle. Whether the partnership eventually clicks — or whether a change is coming — will be one of the small things worth keeping an eye on next time Son of Anarchy lines up.
