The first came at Lingfield Park back in January 2025, and the most recent at Southwell just six weeks ago in March 2026 — so Solar Pass is in form right now, having raced as recently as yesterday. The last six runs read 2-5-1-7-2-2, which translates as: placed, placed, won, disappointing run, placed, placed. That one blip aside, this is a horse running with real consistency, rarely finishing far back and clearly comfortable competing at this level.

Class 5 is where Solar Pass has done most of its racing — nine of its twelve outings have come at that level, with one win to show for it. Winning 1 in every 9 at that class isn't a stunning return, but the frequency of placed finishes suggests a horse that is competitive without always being the one to beat. The picture brightens when the distance stretches out a little: over a mile and one furlong to a mile and two furlongs, Solar Pass has won 1 from 3, or one in every three races — a much stronger conversion rate that suggests the horse genuinely appreciates that trip and is worth following when the conditions suit.

Behind the scenes, Solar Pass is trained by Andrew Balding at the Kingsclere yard in Hampshire — one of the most productive operations in British racing right now, having sent out 202 winners already this season. That kind of output doesn't happen by accident; it reflects a stable with strong horsemanship, and a horse trained there is rarely running without purpose. Solar Pass might not be the yard's headline act, but it's clearly being placed thoughtfully and is holding its form well. With a win six weeks ago and a race just yesterday, this is a horse in the middle of an active campaign — and given how consistently it places, another win doesn't look far away.
