What keeps things interesting is the yard behind the horse. Trainer W McCreery operates out of Rathbride in County Kildare and has sent out 21 winners already this season — a team that clearly knows how to get a horse to the track in winning condition. The fact that Snowballs has not yet found a way to win is unlikely to reflect a lack of care or preparation. Sometimes horses simply take time to find their level, or need the right race on the right day. McCreery's broader record suggests that when the opportunity comes, the team will be ready.

Snowballs raced just one day ago, so this is very much a horse in active campaign. Whether a change of tactics, a different race, or simply a good day can unlock that first win remains to be seen — but with a trainer who clearly has horses running well this season, it would be premature to write Snowballs off entirely.
