Smash Royale is a two-year-old making his first appearance on the track. He lined up recently and finished eleventh, which means he has yet to find the form needed to break into the winners' circle — but then again, that's exactly what you'd expect from a horse racing for the very first time.
Emma Lavelle, his trainer based at Ogbourne Maizey in Wiltshire, runs a yard that has already sent out 44 winners this season, so there is clearly plenty of expertise in the operation. Whether Smash Royale will be the next success story from that stable remains to be seen.
