Cox's operation has sent out 48 winners already this season, which tells you this is a stable that knows how to get horses ready to perform. When a yard is firing at that rate, you pay attention to the horses coming out of it — and Sky Secret is one of the more promising names on the list right now.

Having raced just yesterday, there is plenty still to learn about this horse. The sample size is small, and two races is nowhere near enough to draw firm conclusions. But winning 1 from 2 — a 50% win rate — at the very start of a career is the kind of early evidence that gets people interested. The next few months will be the real test: can Sky Secret handle a step up in class, and does the talent translate as the season gets more competitive? For now, the early signs are encouraging.
