Shamanka

The recent form tells a familiar story. In the last six races, Shamanka has managed a couple of placings (a fifth and a fourth) but has otherwise found the top three beyond reach. Most notably, Wayne Lordan, who rides the horse regularly, has partnered with Shamanka for six races without a victory. That's a partnership that has yet to yield results, even as the jockey continues to get the leg up. The horse raced just a day ago, so it is still in active work — which suggests the yard believe there is something to unlock here, even if the win column remains stubbornly blank. For a four-year-old still searching for that first success, time is beginning to matter.
