What makes this worth watching, though, is who is responsible for the horse's development. Joseph Patrick O'Brien trains out of Owning Hill in County Kilkenny, and his yard has sent out 160 winners already this season — a number that speaks to an operation running at serious scale and serious quality. When a stable is firing at that rate, the individual horses without a win yet are often simply still learning. Two-year-olds in particular can take time to figure things out, and many of the sport's better horses have needed more than three races before the penny drops.
Seven Nation Army raced just yesterday, so the team are clearly keeping the horse busy and giving it every chance to find its feet. The story here is not what has happened — it is what might. In a barn producing winners at that volume, patience tends to pay off.
