After that first win at Stratford, McCain noted that Serious Chat handled the pace and the distance well, describing him as a likeable horse who knows how to win. That last part matters. Some horses need everything to go perfectly; this one seems to understand his job. He gets three miles well, which means staying power is one of his genuine strengths, and his trainer has kept him in the right sort of races to let that show.
