Trained by Denis Gerard Hogan out of Cloughjordan in County Tipperary, Sarahmae operates in a yard that has sent out 56 winners this season alone, so this is not a small operation hoping for lucky breaks. Hogan clearly knows how to place a horse, and Sarahmae's record reflects that — her wins have come at proper tracks, including Tipperary in April 2025 and, most notably, The Curragh in August 2025. The Curragh is Ireland's most prestigious flat venue, the home of the classics, and winning there means Sarahmae has at least touched a level that most horses in her position never reach.
The partnership with jockey J M Sheridan is the other thread worth following. In 12 races together, they have won 2 — roughly 1 in every 6 — which mirrors the horse's overall record and suggests this is a genuine working relationship rather than a convenient booking. Consistency between horse and rider tends to matter more than people realise, and Sheridan clearly understands what Sarahmae needs.
The honest part of the picture is that recent form has cooled. Her last 6 results read 8-6-4-12-8-6 — lots of mid-field finishes, nothing threatening the front. She has not won since that August day at The Curragh, which is now eight months ago. That said, she raced just one day ago, which means she is fit, active, and still being aimed at races by a yard that sends out winners regularly. Hogan is not running out the clock on her — there is clearly still a plan. Whether she can rediscover the form that took her to The Curragh winner's enclosure is the question worth watching.
