His recent form makes for mixed reading. Looking at his last six races — finishing 3rd, 9th, 12th, 5th, 2nd, and 4th in order from oldest to most recent — there are occasional bright spots, particularly that second-place finish, but the 9th and 12th suggest days where things simply haven't clicked. He raced just yesterday, so he is very much in the thick of an active campaign right now.
He is trained by Amanda Perrett, who operates out of Pulborough in West Sussex. The yard has sent out 5 winners already this season, which tells you this is a stable in decent form — horses are fit, the operation is working well, and Perrett clearly knows how to get a horse ready to run. That gives Samuel Colt a reasonable platform. Whether he can add to his single win is the question his team will be working hard to answer.
