Salam Dubawi

The pattern in Salam Dubawi's form hints at where its best chances might lie. Over distances between a mile and a furlong and a mile and two furlongs, it has won one of four races — a 25 percent win rate that stands out sharply against its overall 12 percent record. This is the sweet spot, the distance where the horse seems most comfortable. At other distances, it has struggled to threaten the winner, finishing outside the placings in the majority of its attempts. With that knowledge in hand, Jim Goldie's yard will be hoping to pitch Salam Dubawi into races at its preferred trip and see if it can rediscover the form that delivered that May success at Hamilton.

Recent form has been disappointing. In its last six runs, the horse has come nowhere near a victory, managing one third-place finish and two thirds, but mostly running poorly. It raced just a day ago, so it is still very much active in the yard's plans. Whether Goldie can find another winning opportunity — at the right distance and in the right race — will determine whether Salam Dubawi becomes a multiple winner or remains a one-time victor.
