Thurles clearly suits this horse in a way that most tracks don't, and that kind of course form is exactly what experienced punters look for.

The timeline of those wins is also worth noting. Rushmount landed a first career win at Thurles in March 2025, relatively late in life for a racehorse, which suggests the team at Jonathan Sweeney's yard in Kildinan, Co Cork, took their time finding the right opportunities. Then, in December 2025, Rushmount went back to Thurles and did it again. That's not a fluke — that's a horse who knows its best track.

Sweeney's yard has sent out 8 winners this season, which shows this is a stable capable of placing horses well and getting results. Recent form shows a fall and then two consecutive wins before a couple of mid-pack finishes, and with Rushmount having raced as recently as yesterday, this is a horse very much in active campaign. The team clearly hasn't put this one away for the season, and if Thurles comes up on the schedule again, it would be a brave person who ignores it.
