The team have found exactly the right conditions to make this horse shine. Put him on slightly wet or soft ground and he wins roughly 1 in every 2 races — 2 from 4 outings on that surface. That is a remarkable conversion rate and tells you the team keep their powder dry for the right day.

Distance matters too. Step him up to the longer trips — between a mile and six furlongs and two miles — and he has won 2 of just 3 races, a win rate of 67%. Most horses need time to find their optimum trip; this one found his quickly and his trainer has been smart enough to use it.
