Now four years old and still early in its career, Running Happy has since added a placed finish to that win, giving it a record of one win and two places from just two races. That means it has finished in the top three in every single race it has entered — a 100% place rate that tells you this is a horse that competes hard every time it goes to the track.
The horse is trained by Seamus Mullins, whose yard sits in Wilsford-Cum-Lake in Wiltshire. Mullins has had ten winners this season, which shows a stable in decent form and capable of placing horses where they can perform. Running Happy raced as recently as yesterday, so it is very much a live and active story rather than one being told in hindsight.
The next chapter is the interesting one. With only two races to judge it on, there is still plenty we do not know — but what we do know is that this horse has never run without finishing near the front. That is a foundation worth watching.
