The worrying sign is the gap since its last victory. Rotelle won at Nottingham back in April, but has raced four times since and not won again, most recently finishing second two runs ago. Its most recent outing came just yesterday, when it ran to an eighth-place finish — a poor effort that suggests something may be off, whether the horse is out of form, the race type didn't suit, or it simply came up against stronger opposition. At two years old, form can shift quickly and dramatically, so there is no need to write off the horse. But the absence of a winner in five months, combined with a weak run a day ago, means Rotelle will need to prove it can recover and win again soon to justify confidence going forward.
