Sean Kirrane has stuck with him through six of those races together, but the pair are still searching for that first victory as a combination. Patience is clearly being tested, though the fact that Kirrane keeps coming back suggests there's still some belief in the horse somewhere within the team. He runs almost exclusively in Class 6, which is the lowest level of British racing — the kind of race where, in theory, the competition should be most within reach. Seven races at that level and still no win makes it difficult to put a positive spin on things.

Tim Vaughan trains him from a yard in Aberthin in the Vale of Glamorgan, and it's worth noting that Vaughan's operation is in decent form this season, having sent out 11 winners. That context matters: this isn't a struggling yard where everything is going wrong. Rosco Rogers simply hasn't found his moment yet, and at 4 years old, there's still time — just not an abundance of it. The hope will be that something clicks before long, because a horse that places without winning is at least showing up and competing, even if the finishing line hasn't arrived in the right order yet.
