Those two wins came at Wetherby in June 2025 and Hamilton Park in July 2025, and it is worth noting that neither of those is a small or throwaway track — but the gap since the Hamilton win is now ten months, which is a long time to be chasing a third victory. The last six runs read 5th, 7th, 8th, 3rd, and two blank results before that, and while the third place is a bright spot, the overall direction of travel is heading the wrong way. Horses that drift toward the back of the field in consecutive runs are usually telling you something — whether that is a change in form, a step up in the quality of opposition, or simply a horse still figuring itself out at three.

That last point matters, because Rogue Supremacy has been running almost exclusively at the top level — Class 1, the highest grade in British racing — and has not yet won in six attempts at that level. Going winless from 6 races at the very best grade is not a disgrace; plenty of solid horses spend their whole careers knocking on that door. But it does mean the horse is consistently being asked to beat the very best, and the results suggest it has not yet found an answer. A drop in grade might unlock something, or the current level might be exactly right if the horse is still developing.

What should give everyone connected to Rogue Supremacy quiet confidence is the yard behind it. Archie Watson, based at Upper Lambourn in Berkshire, has sent out 65 winners already this season — a training operation clearly in excellent form. Watson has a reputation for placing horses well and getting the best out of younger horses, so a three-year-old still working its way through its career is in capable hands. Rogue Supremacy raced just one day ago, which means it is as live and current as it gets — whatever comes next, this is a horse very much in the thick of its season.
