The wins themselves tell an interesting story. The first came at Beverley in September 2023, and the second followed just six weeks later at Catterick Bridge in October of the same year. Back-to-back wins like that suggest a horse hitting its stride — confident, in form, and finding its level. The problem is that Catterick win is now 31 months in the past, and the most recent form figures (8, 11, a non-completion, and then 7) make for uncomfortable reading. Something that sparkled in the autumn of 2023 has been harder to find since.
Where the numbers do shine is at Class 5, which represents the level just below the mid-tier of British racing. At that level, Rogue Enforcer has won 2 of 3 races — that is a 67% win rate, or two wins from every three attempts, which is a genuinely striking figure. It suggests this is a horse that, when dropped back to its most comfortable level, becomes a serious contender rather than just a participant.
Watson's yard has been in strong form this season, sending out 65 winners, so the infrastructure and expertise are clearly there. The question is whether Rogue Enforcer can rediscover the enthusiasm it showed in that autumn 2023 purple patch. The horse raced as recently as yesterday, so it is very much an active story. Two wins and four places from eight races is a foundation worth building on — the task now is finding the right race and the right conditions to remind everyone what this horse looked like when it was at its best.
