Rock My Way

The two biggest moments of Rock My Way's career could hardly be more different in timing. His very first win came at Cheltenham in January 2023 — one of the top races in Britain, on one of the most demanding tracks in the country. That is not a bad place to announce yourself. Then, nearly three years later, he went to Ascot in November 2025 and won another top-two race, with Tizzard afterwards saying it was "a beautiful performance to watch" and that the horse had never done anything like it. The trainer was so impressed he mentioned the Grand National. That is a significant step up in ambition for a horse who had previously been described as consistent but not spectacular.

On normal ground he has won 2 of 7 races — that 29% win rate is genuinely strong and tells you something useful: when conditions suit him, he is a different proposition. Brendan Powell has ridden him in 8 of his races for 1 win together, a working partnership that has had its moments without quite clicking consistently. His recent form reads 6-2-2-8-1-10 from back to front, meaning after a poor run he bounced straight back to win at Ascot, then ran second at Uttoxeter — a race Tizzard described with evident frustration as one he thought they had won three fences out. He has raced as recently as yesterday, so this is a horse very much in the middle of an active campaign.

The Welsh National has been mentioned as a target, and Tizzard has also referenced strong performances behind Haiti Couleurs in the National Hunt Chase and a solid showing in the Scottish National. Those are long, gruelling races for horses with stamina and jumping ability — exactly the profile Rock My Way fits. At 8 years old, there is a real sense from the yard that the best may still be ahead of him.
