Regal Cavalier

The recent form tells an interesting story, though. Strip away a blank run where Regal Cavalier failed to finish in the frame, and you can see the horse trending in the right direction — a second place, a fourth, and then a third in its most recent completed effort. That third-place finish came just a day ago, so this is a horse very much in the middle of an active campaign. The direction of travel is encouraging even if the end result keeps falling just short.

Most of its racing has come at Class 4 level — solid, competitive middle-tier racing — where it has gone 0 from 4. At that level, horses are capable and consistent, so simply placing occasionally is no disgrace. But until Regal Cavalier finds a way to get its nose in front, it remains a horse that promises more than it delivers. The next few races will be telling.
