Trainer Grace Harris operates out of Shirenewton in Gwent, and with 27 winners sent out this season the yard is in decent form — which makes Rating's single win feel less like a fluke and more like a horse finally finding its conditions. Jockey Sean Levey has partnered Rating six times without getting their head in front together, though that is perhaps less a reflection on either of them and more a sign of how stubborn this horse's winning habit has been.

What makes Rating worth watching right now is the recent trajectory. After a pair of mid-field finishes — eighth, eighth — it came home first, then followed up with a third and a second. That is a horse running into form at the right time. Raced just one day ago, it is clearly active and in the thick of things. Whether it can add to that solitary Wolverhampton success remains to be seen, but the form arrows are pointing upward, and at a mile or so on a good surface, Rating looks more interesting than its career record alone might suggest.
