Rastnet

The one genuine strength in Rastnet's record is distance. At races between one mile and one furlong and one mile and two furlongs, the horse has won one from four attempts—a 25% win rate that stands out sharply against its overall 9% record. That suggests Rastnet has found a comfort zone and John Butler's Newmarket yard will likely target those distances when looking for another win. Recent form, however, has been uninspiring. In the last six races, Rastnet has finished fourth, seventh, and third twice, with two second-place finishes showing it can get close but cannot quite finish the job. The horse raced just yesterday, so the yard are keeping it active and hunting for that elusive second win. Class 5 races—the lower tier of competition—might offer the best chance. Rastnet has won one of three at that level, more than twice the win rate elsewhere. Whether Butler's yard can spark another victory remains to be seen, but Rastnet will need to rediscover the form that brought success in December to make it happen.
