That suggests Ramaah needs a real test of stamina to be at its best, and races that are too short are probably not doing it any favours.

Jockey James Best has partnered Ramaah nine times and is still waiting for a win between them — 0 from 9 is a tough run for any partnership, though it likely says more about the horse's level than Best's riding. Trainer Sarah-Jayne Davies, based in Leominster, has sent out five winners this season, so the yard is in reasonable shape. It just has not been able to unlock anything more from this particular horse quite yet.

The honest truth is that Ramaah is a horse with one good day on its record and a lot of effort since.
