Princesse Milania

Both of her wins came in a tight eleven-day window back in the autumn of 2025 — first at Plumpton on 20 October, then at Wetherby on 31 October. That back-to-back sequence suggested a horse who had found her feet and was building momentum, but she has not won in the six races since, and that Wetherby victory is now six months in the rearview mirror. Her recent form reads as two runner-up finishes and a third sandwiched around a couple of blank efforts, which tells the story of a horse who is competitive without quite being able to get her nose in front.

What stands out is her record at Class 4 level, which is where she has raced most often. In seven attempts at that grade, she has yet to win a single one — not once. Both of her victories came elsewhere, which raises an interesting question about whether the Class 4 field suits her or whether she simply needs a different kind of race to show her best. It is a puzzle worth watching.

She is trained by Mark Walford at Sheriff Hutton in North Yorkshire, a yard that has been in sharp form this season with 35 winners already sent out — so the operation clearly knows how to get horses ready to win. Jamie Hamilton rides her most often, partnering her in 7 of her 15 races for that 1 win together. Princesse Milania raced just yesterday, so she is very much in active training and in the thick of her season.
