Preferred

Preferred remains a work in progress at three years old, having lined up three times without finding the winner's enclosure. The horse has recorded one placed finish across those efforts—a third-place result in the middle of three recent runs—but has otherwise finished fourth and fourth in its last two outings. James Tate's Newmarket yard continues to produce winners at a healthy clip this season with 51 victories to date, so there is clearly quality at the operation, but Preferred has yet to show the finishing touch needed to break through. With racing just yesterday, the horse remains actively campaigned and will need to find improvement soon to justify further investment in its racing career.
