Precious Spartan

The last win came at Ripon on 4 August 2025, now over a year ago. Since then, Precious Spartan has raced six times without victory, though a third-place finish in that sequence suggests the horse still has competitive moments. Recent form reads 7-11-8-9-3-7 — a string of mid-field and back-field efforts that shows form has dried up considerably. The most productive period was clearly earlier in 2025, when a first career win at Ripon on 29 May launched what would be a two-win summer, with another success at the same track in August.

Trainer Patrick Neville's yard at Coverham has been strong this season with 28 winners, but Precious Spartan has not been one of the success stories lately. The horse runs best over distances between 1 mile 1 furlong and 1 mile 2 furlongs — at that range, it has won 3 of 13 races.
