The recent run of form tells a familiar story. Over the last six races, Polkaface has finished eighth, third, fourth, seventh, fifth, and fifth — a sequence that shows flashes of promise but no real consistency, and certainly no wins. That third-place finish stands out as the closest it has come to a big day, and it raced just yesterday, so the team at least has no concerns about keeping the horse busy.
Polkaface is trained by Ben Case, who operates out of Edgcote in Northamptonshire. Case's yard has sent out 10 winners already this season, which shows there is plenty of ability in the stable. The question is whether Polkaface can tap into that winning form that others in the yard have clearly found. At six years old, time is not yet running out — but the horse will need to put together something sharper than it has managed so far if it is going to get its head in front for the first time.
