Pepper Fizz

Most of Pepper Fizz's racing has come at Class 5 level, which is the entry-level tier of British racing — essentially the races where horses are finding their feet and earning their stripes. Going 0 from 4 at that level suggests this isn't simply a horse being thrown into the deep end against tougher rivals. The challenge is there to be solved, and at three years old there is still time to solve it.

Trainer Georgina Nicholls operates out of Kingston Lisle in Oxfordshire, and the yard has sent out 11 winners already this season, so the horses coming through the gate clearly know how to win. The fact that Pepper Fizz raced just yesterday shows this is an active, campaign-mode horse — the team are clearly persisting, which in itself is a vote of confidence that improvement is expected. Whether that first win comes soon is the question worth watching.
