Peace In The Park

The recent run of form makes for interesting reading. That sequence shows a horse finding its feet again after some difficult runs, pulling back into contention and posting back-to-back third-place finishes. It isn't winning, but there is a genuine sense of momentum building, and the fact it raced as recently as yesterday confirms this is a horse in active work and clearly held in good enough order to keep running.

Finn Lambert has been the regular partner, riding Peace In The Park in five of its nine races without a winner between them. That is a significant chunk of their combined careers spent searching for the same breakthrough, and it gives their partnership a slightly poignant quality — two careers intertwined, both still chasing that first moment of glory together.

The trainer is D J Jeffreys, operating out of Hinton on the Green in Worcestershire — a small yard that has sent out four winners already this season. Four winners might not sound like a headline number, but for a smaller operation it represents real, consistent output, and it shows Jeffreys knows how to get a horse ready to perform on the day. The question now is whether Peace In The Park can be the next name added to that tally. The places are there, the consistency is there, and with a horse that raced yesterday showing this level of form, it would be no great surprise if the winner's enclosure finally gets a visit sooner rather than later.
