Payforanother Daay

Trained by Simon Hodgson at Dogmersfield in Hampshire, the horse races almost entirely at the lowest levels of competition—Class 6 races, where a win would mean something, yet in seven attempts there it has never won. The trainer's yard has had eight winners this season, so there is form in the stable. But Payforanother Daay hasn't been the one to provide it. Run last just a day ago, the horse remains active and clearly sound. The question hanging over it is whether the racing pattern—those two places in 13 runs, scattered among mostly mid-field and rear finishes—represents the ceiling of its ability or simply the bad luck of a horse that's just never quite had its day.
