What works in Passerine's favour is the stable behind the horse. Richard Hannon, based in Wiltshire, is one of the most active and successful trainers in the country, and his yard has already sent out 118 winners this season alone. That kind of volume is not luck — it reflects a training operation that consistently gets horses ready to perform. For a young, unproven horse, being in a yard that fires out winners at that rate is a real advantage, because the team clearly know how to develop potential and find the right races.
Three races in, no wins yet, and still racing — Passerine is a work in progress. But at two years old, that is entirely normal. Some of the best horses take time to figure things out, and a second-place finish suggests there is at least something to work with. Whether the wins come this season or next, the foundation is there.
