That Epsom victory is the headline on the CV. Epsom is one of the more demanding tracks in Britain — its sharp, undulating nature sorts out horses quickly — and winning a top-level race there is not something every horse manages. Partisan Hero has now won 5 races from 21 overall, which works out at roughly 1 in every 4, a solid record that suggests a horse who earns his keep without being flashy about it. On normal ground, that number improves further: 3 wins from 8 races, or 38%, meaning he's nearly winning two in every five when conditions suit.

His best trips are between seven furlongs and a mile, where he's won 2 of 5 races — again, around 40%, which is a strong return at any level. The jockey Jake Coen noticed something interesting after his Gowran Park win back in 2023: that his last furlong was actually his best, suggesting he could potentially step up in distance. Whether that path has been pursued since is unclear, but the comment hints at a horse with more to give than he always shows.

Recent form tells a slightly mixed story — a seventh-place finish sandwiched between his wins in the last six races — but two wins from six recent runs is a healthy clip, and Loughnane's yard has sent out 38 winners this season alone, which is the mark of an operation in good health. With Partisan Hero having raced as recently as yesterday and his Epsom win still fresh, this is a horse very much in the middle of his story rather than the end of it. At six, with a Class 2 win already on the board, he's taken his time to arrive — but he does appear to have arrived.
