Park Princess

Honeyball runs a productive operation out of Mosterton, and this season alone the yard has sent out 51 winners. That is not a small-time outfit finding its feet — that is a trainer who knows what he is doing with his horses, and Park Princess has been one of the beneficiaries. When Honeyball first bought her at the sales, he was already excited, noting that her mother is a half-sister to La Bague Au Roi — a former Grade One winner and one of the best mares to race in Britain in recent years. Breeding is never a guarantee, but that kind of family background is a serious head start.

The partnership with jockey Sam Twiston-Davies has been particularly striking. In five races together, he has ridden her to two wins — a 40% win rate, or 2 from every 5 rides. That is an unusually productive combination; for context, most jockey-horse partnerships at this level would be delighted with half that return. When those two click, they clearly click.

Her most recent win came at Fontwell Park on 11 January 2026, just over three months ago, and she has raced as recently as yesterday, so she is very much in active training. Her last six runs show a mixed picture — a win, a second place, and some disappointing efforts — but the presence of that recent victory keeps the profile alive.

The one persistent puzzle is her record at the top level. In six races at Class 1 — the very best races in Britain — she has yet to get her nose in front, with zero wins from six attempts. That is not unusual for a horse of her age still climbing the ladder, but it does suggest she is being tested at the highest tier before she has fully proved herself there. Watch for her in slightly calmer company, where her form suggests she is genuinely dangerous.
