Owzthat

Rebecca Menzies trains Owzthat from her yard in Morden, Durham, and the stable is clearly in decent health this season — 36 winners is a solid return and shows the operation knows how to get horses winning. The challenge for the team is that Owzthat has not yet managed to translate that stable form into a result of its own. At Class 5, which is the entry-level tier of British racing, it has run three times without troubling the judge once. That is not a disaster — Class 5 is still competitive — but it does mean Owzthat is yet to find a race where everything has clicked.

There is not much to dress up here. Zero from four is zero from four. But the yard is firing and the horse is still active, which means the team clearly believe there is a race to be won somewhere. Whether Owzthat can find it remains the question.
