That pair of runner-up finishes in quick succession hint that One Way Traffic is capable of finding its rhythm in certain races — but converted either of those near-misses into a win is another matter entirely. The horse was last in action just yesterday, which confirms it is genuinely active on the circuit.

Oliver McKiernan's yard at Rathcoole, in County Dublin, has sent out six winners this season, so the stable knows how to get horses across the line. One Way Traffic is most often ridden by Phillip Enright, though their partnership has produced seven races without a breakthrough either. At this stage in a horse's career, when it has run sixteen times without winning, the bar has been set: this is a consistent campaigner for place money and occasional excitement, but a multiple-race winner it is unlikely to be.
