The place she loves most is The Curragh, Ireland's most prestigious flat track. She has won 3 from 7 there — nearly one in every two visits — and her trainer Paddy Twomey has been open about why: the track suits her, the conditions suit her, and she simply thrives in that environment. Her last win came there on 20 July 2025, a race Twomey described in vivid terms — she didn't get the clearest run, showed real courage in a tight finish, and won "at the death". That kind of win tells you something about a horse's character.

Where distances are concerned, she hits her sweet spot between seven furlongs and a mile, winning 2 of her 4 races at that range. But Twomey has been deliberately pointing her toward longer trips this season, with an autumn campaign over a mile and two furlongs in mind. He believes her pedigree suggests she'll stay the extra distance — and a step up in class is clearly on the agenda. After her Curragh win, he spoke about needing to "look at better", which is trainer shorthand for targeting the top races.

Her partnership with jockey W J Lee is worth noting. In 8 races together they have won 4 — exactly half — which is a remarkable ratio and suggests Lee knows this horse well and gets the best from her. Ascot, by contrast, was a rare misfire: the ground was faster than she likes and the trip shorter than ideal, and she never really got into it. That race is best set aside.

Trained out of Cashel in County Tipperary by a yard that has sent out 35 winners already this season, One Look is clearly held in high regard at home. Twomey called her "smart" during a stable tour earlier this year — and with her form, her course record at The Curragh, and an ambitious campaign being plotted, that quiet confidence looks entirely justified.
