The horse has won three times from eighteen races overall—a win rate of roughly one in every six attempts—but those numbers mask something more interesting. On normal ground conditions, Ohailbhic wins far more often: three wins from eight races means he succeeds roughly two races in every five when the surface suits him. Even more striking is his form over his preferred distances of one mile one furlong to one mile two furlongs, where he has won two of three races, a success rate of two in three. Put those two things together and you have a horse that knows exactly what it wants.
Dundalk is where that works best. The horse has won three of its eight races there, making it a genuine course specialist—almost one win per two visits. His most recent victory came at the track on 20 March 2026, five months ago. Since then, form has been patchier. In his last six races he has produced two wins and two places, but also a couple of unplaced runs that suggest he is not infallible away from his favourite conditions or at trips that do not suit him. Still, he raced just yesterday, so he remains active and in work.
John James Feane's yard has found the winning formula with this one: keep him on normal ground, bring him back to Dundalk when possible, and trust the mile and a quarter. It is the kind of targeted approach that has helped the Curragh trainer send out eight winners this season already.
