Its very first career win came there, on 3 January 2023, so the relationship goes back to the beginning.

Combine that with the Wolverhampton preference and you have a horse that essentially tells you exactly when to watch it. This is not a horse being stretched beyond its ability, but one that competes reliably at the right level.

The frustrating footnote is that the last win came at Southwell back in August 2024, nearly 21 months ago, and the last six races have produced nothing better than a second place. Recent form reads 10th, 15th, 4th, 12th, 2nd, 10th — patchy at best. Trainer Edward Smyth-Osbourne's yard in Upper Lambourn has sent out 8 winners this season, so the operation is in form. Regular partner Rob Hornby has won 1 from their 5 rides together (20%), which broadly mirrors the horse's overall average. The pieces are in place. Noodle Mission raced just yesterday, so it is clearly being kept busy — and for a horse with a very specific profile of where and when it wins, the right race is probably just around the corner.
