His most recent win came at Fairyhouse in January 2025, and it was one of those performances that briefly made everyone sit up and take notice. He led from the front, jumped cleanly throughout, and crossed the line a winner — the kind of race where everything clicks. At the time, trainer Gavin Cromwell was optimistic enough to start mapping out next steps, mentioning a race at Navan as a possible target. Sixteen months on, that win remains his last. He has not troubled the judge in his six races since, finishing no better than fourth in that run.

His record on normal ground stands out slightly — 2 wins from 11 races, which is an 18% win rate, or roughly 1 in every 5 or 6 runs. In a career that otherwise yields just 1 win in 11 overall, that jump in performance on a standard surface is worth noting. Whether conditions have simply aligned with better days or there is a genuine preference there, it is one of the more encouraging patterns in an otherwise modest record.

Regular jockey Daniel King has partnered Noble Birth six times without a win between them, and at the top end — Class 2 races, among the better quality contests in Britain — the horse has managed nothing from three attempts. That is not a surprise for a horse at this level, but it does suggest his best days come when the race suits him rather than when the occasion demands something extra.

Clare Ellam's yard has sent out two winners this season, so Noble Birth is operating in a small, quietly busy operation rather than a powerhouse stable. He raced just yesterday, which means he is very much still in training and still in the mix. At nine, he is not a young horse with chapters yet to write — but he is clearly still enjoying his racing, still placing regularly enough to justify his place in the yard, and still capable, on his best day, of winning.
