Two wins from six races at that tight, undulating track in Northumberland is a 33% win rate — wins 1 in every 3 races there — which is genuinely remarkable. Most horses visit a course six times and come away with something to show for it maybe once, if that. No Regrets has figured Hexham out, and the yard clearly knows it: the horse won there just this week, on 9 May 2026. That is not a coincidence. That is a trainer sending a horse to a venue where he knows it will perform.

That trainer is Nicky Richards, who operates out of Greystoke in Cumbria — proper northern racing country. His yard has sent out 39 winners already this season, so this is not a small operation getting lucky. Richards spoke a couple of years ago about No Regrets still having room to improve, noting the horse had experience on its side and should win its share of races. On the evidence, that prediction has held up.

The regular partnership with Sean Quinlan adds another layer. Quinlan has ridden No Regrets in 17 of its 24 races and picked up 3 of those 4 wins — roughly 1 win every 6 rides together.
