The early wins came at good venues. The first arrived at Hamilton Park on 17 July, and the second followed at Chester, one of the most competitive courses in Britain. That back-to-back success in strong races points to a genuinely talented young horse rather than one merely winning against weak opposition. Kevin Philippart De Foy's Newmarket yard, which has already sent out 40 winners this season, clearly knows what it is doing with Nicely. At just two years old, with two wins under its belt and racing actively, this horse has all the hallmarks of one that could develop into something special — but it is early days yet, and the real test will be whether it can maintain this level as it faces tougher competition and more experienced rivals.
