Native Jewel

Native Jewel is a two-year-old horse trained by Joseph Patrick O'Brien at Owning Hill in County Kilkenny. The horse made its debut just over a day ago and finished sixth. With only one race under its belt, there is nothing yet to suggest how Native Jewel will develop or what distances and conditions it might suit. O'Brien's yard has been in strong form this season, sending out 160 winners, so the infrastructure and expertise are certainly in place to bring the horse along. What comes next will tell us far more — whether Native Jewel bounces back quickly, improves with racing, or takes time to find its feet.
