The trainer Lemos De Souza, based at Newmarket, has built a strong yard this season with 19 winners already, and Naana's Sparkle represents the kind of consistent performer that yards are built around. Its jockey Kieran O'Neill has ridden it eight times for two wins, so while the partnership works, there is room for improvement in how often they get across the line together.

The one weakness is racing in higher-grade events. When asked to step up to top-level competition, the horse has won just once from five attempts, which tells you Naana's Sparkle has found its level and does best in tougher but not elite races. Still, fresh off two wins in the past week and with a clear liking for Goodwood and normal ground, this is a horse in form and worth watching.
