In the last six races, there have been only two below-par efforts — a third-place finish and an eighth — but everything else has been competitive. The win-place-place sequence at the start of that run, capped off with the two consecutive victories, suggests the horse is figuring something out and coming into form precisely when it matters.

Trained by Daniel and Claire Kubler at their Lambourn yard, Mythological Star benefits from a stable that is clearly in good health. The Kublers have sent out 34 winners already this season, which speaks to their ability to get horses ready and keep them firing.
