The Haydock story is the one that stands out. Three wins from just four visits to that track is the kind of record that makes you sit up. It is where his career began in earnest, with a first win back in August 2024, and he has returned twice since to win at Class 2 level — one of the top tiers of racing in Britain — including a victory there on 26 April 2025. Horses that click with a particular track often have something to do with how it is laid out or how it rides, and whatever Haydock offers, Myal clearly finds it to his liking.

The ground appears to matter very little to him, which in Britain is genuinely useful. On normal conditions he wins 3 from 5 (60%), and on wet or muddy ground he wins 2 from 3 (67%). That versatility means the team at Steph Hollinshead's yard in Staffordshire can target races without worrying too much about the weather forecast. Hollinshead has sent out seven winners this season already, and Myal is clearly a flagship horse for the operation.

His recent form reads 2-1-5-2-16-11 going back from his latest run, and that first-and-second at the top of that list tell the real story of where he is right now. He won at Thirsk in April 2026 and followed it with a second place just days ago, which means he is bang in form and very much an active force. His regular jockey David Allan has ridden him to 2 wins from 5 attempts together — a 40% win rate — and the partnership appears to be developing into something worth watching. At Class 2, where he competes most often, he has won 2 from 7 (29%), which is a solid return at that standard. Myal is not a horse building towards something — he is already there.
