My My My Delilah

Recent form tells a familiar story. Her last six outings have produced a couple of fourth-place finishes among some more distant efforts, and she was back out just yesterday, keeping herself firmly in the conversation as an active runner. Finishing fourth twice is not disgraceful, but at her level — Class 4, which is firmly in the lower half of the racing ladder — it means she is being beaten by horses she really ought to be matching up with.

She is trained by Stuart Coltherd, whose small yard is based up in Selkirk in the Scottish Borders. It is a modest operation by the numbers — just one winner sent out so far this season — which makes finding the right opportunity for a horse like this all the more important. With no wins from four attempts at Class 4, the puzzle of where My My My Delilah can be competitive enough to break through remains very much unsolved. For now, she keeps turning up, and in racing, that counts for something.
