Moving Shadow

With one win from three races, Moving Shadow is converting at a rate that would normally be celebrated for a young horse, but the lack of another victory in the months since that Leicester success is telling. It is trained by K. R. Burke's yard at Coverham in North Yorkshire, one of the strongest stables in the country this season — Burke's team has already sent out 145 winners — so the horse has every chance to find its feet under experienced hands. Still, for a 3-year-old to go ten months between wins is a sign it is still working out where it belongs in the racing pecking order. The recent seventh-place finish suggests Moving Shadow has not yet rediscovered the form that brought that debut victory.
