Money Shuffler

The recent form makes for tough reading. Looking at the last six runs, the numbers tell a pretty consistent story: finishing positions of 12th, 11th, 6th, 8th, 11th, and then a placed effort — and that placed run is now the highlight of an otherwise difficult stretch. The slight uptick that placed finish represented hasn't carried forward, and the horse raced again just yesterday, suggesting the team are keeping it busy and still believing something can be unlocked.

At six years old, time is not exactly on Money Shuffler's side when it comes to turning the page. Horses can and do find their feet later in their careers, but doing so requires some evidence of progress — and right now the form doesn't clearly point in that direction. Whether a change of tactics, a different type of race, or simply fresher legs can change the picture remains to be seen. For now, Money Shuffler is one of racing's stubborn puzzles: a horse that keeps turning up without yet finding the answer.
